So I've decided to revive this blog. Maybe blogging will help reduce my anxiety. My anxiety attack episodes have been occurring much more frequently recently and it has been taking its toll on my body. I've been feeling really weak these past couple of days. *sigh*
My dad took me to the doctor earlier this morning to get a check-up. I must say, it was quite unusual. They hooked me up to this weird machine, they strapped on some stuff to my head, my wrists and my ankles. I was told to just close my eyes and relax. Anyway, the findings were that all of my anxiety attacks are caused by stress, lack of sleep, proper diet, etc. What surprised me was when the doctor said "Mataas ang results na you've been anxious about religion and spiritual factors. Tsaka meron ka ring fear of rejection and embarrassment." BOOM. Uhhhh teka, paano niya nalaman ano nasa utak ko?? Dahil lang sa machine na yun? Ayos.
He asked what's the one thing I enjoy doing the most, I answered: PERFORMING. But then here's the thing, performing is one of the main causes for my anxiety attacks. "So paano na po yun?" I asked. He simply answered that there are many ways on how we can look at a situation and we are not just limited to one. He reminded me that stress doesn't come from the situation we are in; it comes from how we choose to react to the situation. We subject ourselves to feeling stressed or anxious because only we have control to how we choose to respond to things.
